LLB Course
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program at Sree Krishna College of Law is designed to provide a deep understanding of legal principles, practices, and the judicial system. The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the legal profession and contribute effectively to the legal system.
Eligibility
Academic Qualifications:
- Candidates must have passed a degree from a recognized university.
Minimum Percentage Requirements:
- General Category: Minimum of 45% in the qualifying examination.
- OBC Category: Minimum of 42% in the qualifying examination.
- SC & ST Categories: Minimum of 40% in the qualifying examination.
Programme Length:
- The 3-Year LL.B. Programme is structured over a duration of three years, divided into six semesters.
Academic Calendar:
- Each academic year is split into two semesters.
- Each semester consists of 18 weeks of instructional time.
Internship Requirements:
- Students are required to complete a 4-week internship at the end of each academic year, totaling 12 weeks of internship throughout the 3-year programme.
Programme of Study
1. Curriculum:
- The curriculum for the 3-Year LL.B. Programme is prescribed by the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and may be updated periodically.
2. Attendance Requirements:
- Students must attend a minimum of 75% of the classes in each subject per semester.
- Conduct and progress must be satisfactory during the semester.
- Students failing to meet these requirements will not be eligible to sit for the semester examinations.
3. Promotion Criteria:
- Students must pass at least one course per semester or two courses per academic year to be promoted to the next year. This rule is not applicable to the LL.B. Programme due to the carryover system.
- Students must complete the entire 3-year programme within six years from the date of admission.
4. Award of Degree:
- To be eligible for the LL.B. degree, students must:
- Successfully complete all prescribed courses across all semesters.
- Secure a minimum of 40% in the aggregate.
- Maintain satisfactory character and conduct throughout the programme.
